Civil and commercial litigation involves filing and defending lawsuits brought in the courts of the State of Colorado. Legal disputes not settled by the individuals or entities involved are submitted to a court for a judge or jury to decide. I have litigation and trial experience in all Colorado courts, including appeals. I have represented individuals and businesses in a wide array of disputes, including those involving real estate, debt transactions, contested family law matters, breach of contract and many others.

I also represent parties in alternative dispute resolution forums, such as arbitration and mediation. 

I provide a wide variety of services to my business clients from choosing the appropriate business entity for operation to dissolution. The form of business chosen for a business entity potentially affects every aspect of its operations.  I assist my clients in deciding whether they want to operate as a closely held business, limited liability company, partnership, or corporation. I also provide ongoing services such as preparation and upkeep of business records and general legal advice, including contract and debtor/creditor issues, the purchase and sale of the entity or its assets and various other issues faced by small business owners. 

I offer advice and representation to businesses and individuals involved in the construction industry as owners, general contractors or sub-contractors. My services include preparation and review of construction contracts, disputes concerning adequacy of performance and mechanics lien litigation. 

The law of contracts pertains to many diverse areas. A contract is an agreement between two or more parties to exchange something (consideration) for something else. A contract is formed through an offer and the acceptance of the offer. A valid contract need not be in writing except in certain instances. Contractual agreements are entered into regarding many different subjects in everyday life. The practice of contract law addresses assurance that a valid, binding contract is in place in the first instance, and that remedies for breach of contract are available and enforced. 

Pro Bono cases are handled without charge to the client. I usually handle one case at a time, and my focus is to assist veterans and elderly persons in need of legal help who are unable to afford legal representation.
